Bus 210 Swat Analysis

...The business plan I chose was a racing parts services business plan titled  Auto Parts Business Plan. This business plan is very well thought out and provides much strength. The owners have 30 years of experience in the industry combined and have all the knowledge of daily operations for a racing business. The industry motorsports has been fast growing and has over 1.5 billion in annual sales. The business model is very well developed and researched. The plan provides breakdowns of what capital is needed to start-up, maintain the business, and provides an anticipated growth plan for the next three years. The owners also researched the location and that there has been a 25% increase in population growth in the last decade. Furthermore a new kart racing company will be opening across the street from them. I feel the company has a sound mission statement and has put much thought into how to go about achieving the goals stated in the mission statement. I think this business will attract many clients as the owner intends to be active in the industry, form partnerships with local businesses, and offer discounts to clients of partnering businesses. I feel the market segments are accurately targeted. The price the organization will charge for the services they intend to offer will meet this segment’s budget, and there is definitely a need for quality parts The Company has ideal plans for marketing their services. They have several marketing strategies from print ads, press......

Tactical Operations

...Gates. Gates built the original SWAT team with 15 four-man teams. Each of the men originally involved in SWAT were volunteers from patrol officers, and all had prior military experience. Other Tactical Operations teams developed from or to aid SWAT teams, such as negotiations and bomb squads. The components of the Tactical Operations Divisions are SWAT, Negotiations, Bomb Squad, Dive Team, and K-9 Units. Each component has a special purpose but each is essential to the others. Having different teams for different needs allows each team to become more effective at their own roles. The Structure of a SWAT team (HPD) consists of 10 or fewer full-time SWAT officers, and 2 or more part-time or volunteer patrol officers. An officer must be on the SWAT part-time before they can join completely. This is part of acceptance process. SWAT also takes on a variety of roles. SWAT has access to high tech devices and weaponry that allows them to resolve situations that normal patrol officers would be ill-equipped to handle. They serve high-risk warrants such as arrests of possibly armed suspects. SWAT teams assist in violent situations including riots and robberies as well as support for hostage situations. The SWAT team also assists officers in active shooter situations. This is when there is a hostage situation or robbery where the suspect is actively shooting and engaging civilians and/or police personnel. SWAT aid patrol officers with instruction as well. SWAT officers educate......

...QUESTION: Company A's weakness is company B's strength. Company C's threat is company D's opportunity. Explain with relevant example. Answer: First of all I would like to give a short definition of the terms weakness, strength, threat and opportunity. WEAKNESS: Attributes of the organization that is harmful to achieving the objective. STRENGTH: Attributes of the organization that are helpful to achieving the objective. THREAT: External conditions which could do damage to the business's performance. OPPORTUNITY: External conditions that are helpful to achieving the objective. Actually there are a lot of areas used to assess the strength and weakness in the companies one of these areas is the (cash flow )of the company while company A's weakness could be the lack of enough cash so they cannot for example afford to undertake a large-scale promotional campaign and this could be the strength of company B which is in better situation so it can afford to undertake such as this activity. Other example for estimating the areas of strength and weakness in the companies is the (Efficiency in communication skills) for example while company A's weakness due to the bad communicate with the customers and clients this could be the strength of company B which has excellent communication with the clients which is approaching the prospective of the clients and achieve their desires and it just makes the clients want to start a business with this company. Swat Analysis of Software Company

...A SWOT Analysis view of the software development industry Georgios Kormaris Department of Information and Computing Sciences, Utrecht University, Utrecht, The Netherlands gkormari@cs.uu.nl WWW home page: http://www.cs.uu.nl/ Introduction I n the past twenty to thirty years many changes and developments have taken place in the software industry which started off during the 1960s mainly in the United States of America and experienced a revolutionary boom since the 1980s, Steinmueller, (1995). There are many different ways and methods of developing software and planning the strategy of a software development company, as we can derive from many recent research projects. Most of these projects are usually concerned with the way that software is developed and not with the way that the strategy of the company as a whole is planned, Cusumano, MacCormack, Kemerer, & Crandall, (2003). Another important factor is which techniques and methods are used to analyze company’s environment and how the strategy is formulated and implemented. In this paper we analyze a popular method for strategic planning which has been mostly used for product portfolio planning and strategic planning on an abstract level, as stated in a research paper by Houben, Lenie, & Vanhoof, (1999). We will focus our interest in the software industry and base our research on the case study of the Austrian software industry as it is presented by Bernroider, (2002). Additionally, certain guidelines......

...that making strategic choices for the firm is less important than asking the right questions in choosing the strategy. A company may mistakenly solve a problem by providing the correct answer to the wrong question.   SWAT ANALYSIS ACTIVITY Hand out the SWOT Reading Material (shown below) to the learners and have them read and then discuss it. (about 30 minutes) Once the above activity is completed, break the learners into small groups (3 to 4 learners per group). Note that the small groups should be composed of learners who are in departments that normally work together on a project. Tell them they are going to be introducing a new product or service. Note that the instructor will have to discuss this activity with the learners' managers before the class begins. The instructor needs to identify the new product or service with the managers (or at least a believable one). The small groups will use the SWOT tools to first identify strategies for introducing the new product or service and then list some of the tactics for actually creating and/or producing the new product or service. (about 1 hour) Once they have completed the activity, bring the small groups back together and have them discuss their plans and critique each other. (about 45 minutes)   THE SWAT ANALYSIS PROCESS A company's strategic planning process is dependent upon an internal and external evaluation of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats (SWOT). A SWOT analysis is a process used to......

Google Swat Analysis

...SWOT is an acronym used to describe the particular strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that are potential strategic factors for any company. A SWOT approach should not only result in the identification of a corporation distinction competencies - the particular capabilities and resources that a firm possesses and the superior way in which they are used – but also in the identification of opportunities that the firm is not currently able to take advantage of due to a lack of appropriate resources (Wheelen, Hunger, Hoffman, and Bamford, 2015). I chose to conduct my SWOT analysis on Google. STRENGHTS Perhaps the biggest strength of Google is that it is the undisputed leader in search engines, which means that it has a domineering and lion’s share of the internet searches worldwide. It has more than 68% of the market share for internet searches and the competitors do not even come close to anywhere that it does (Tower, 2014). Google has become a household brand in the world, just like McDonalds, Apple, and Facebook. Its ability to drive internet user traffic is legendary and this has helped it become one of the most powerful brands in the world. Indeed, Google averages more than 1.2 Billion hits a month in terms of the unique searches that users perform on the site. This gives it an unrivalled and unparalleled edge over its competitors in the market. Its revenue model wherein it garners humungous profits through partnerships with third party sites has held......

Business Swat Analysis

...D1.Evaluate the effectiveness of the promotional mix for a branded product Nike is a very well established business which regularly promotes and advertises its products. The brand Nike has many strengths and weaknesses that I will be evaluating in this piece of work! Strengths | Weaknesses | Worldwide | A bit expensive | Most recognized name in active sportswear | Lack retail stores | over 700 shops globally in about 45 different countries | Don’t have their own factory | Nike is one of the most widely-known companies in the world | Breaking many labour laws | “swoosh”(the tick) one of the most instantly-recognizable corporate symbols in history | Paying workers below minimum wage to make more money as a company | Have products for a big range of customers | Cheaper products if you shop online | Now I will explain how the promotional activities of the brand help promote its message to the target market: Advertising - Nike uses advertising to persuade its customers to want to buy their products. They use a huge range of different techniques in order to catch their customer’s attentions from billboards to TV advertisements. These kinds of techniques have huge advantages to Nikes reputation because it is a way of getting customers to recognize their brand instantly. They also advertise their brand on both online and in- store, this allows their products to get even more noticed. However this can also become a loss for Nike because their......

A Description of Cinematography in Leon

...Stansfield decides to hunt down this hit man as well as the girl. Bringing all his might with the police he storms the building where Leon and Matilda live with hundreds of SWAT and police members. Matilda yet again, is returning from shopping, a mirror scene of when her family is killed. As Matilda returns the initial framing is a tight long shot of the hallway where she enters. This gives the audience a restrictive view point of Matilda’s perspective, the colours being very bleak, and no colour is particularly vibrant, even the green of the walls is greyish, this style is apparent throughout the places Leon and Matilda go and shows how bleak and almost hopeless their situation is. Though the hallway is evenly lit as to allow the audience to establish that it is clear. This is used to then surprise the audience when Matilda is grabbed as she passes an adjoining hallway. The scene then cuts to a mid-shot of Matilda being held by a SWAT member, the composition is of Matilda in the centre of the shot while she is surrounded by the a dozen SWAT members. This I believe is to show how surrounded her and Leon are, though the audience isn’t shown it yet the building is full of SWAT members and the main characters are completely surrounded. The tight telephoto lens used makes the hall way seem completely full of SWAT even though there are only a small amount, as well as this effect a shallow depth of field is used to bring the focus on Matilda and the rest of the hall way merely......

HOW SWAT OFFICERS AND FILM CREWS HANDLE SURPRISES. 1) How individuals respond to unexpected events that allow work to continue. 2) How are problems solved by using available resources? Outline the theoretical framework underpinning the study. It is impossible to predict everything that can go wrong in our daily lives and there is no question that all organizations, not just business, need to adapt in order to survive (Herold David M, Fedor Donald B 2009). Fortunately, in the academy of management journal article of expecting unexpected new research organizational behavior in fast -paced work environments has revealed a set of strategies that can improve individual reactions and overall group performance. The two author(s)’ Bechky and Okhuysen, in their study published in 2011 used strategic interviews and direct observation to find similarities between the ways Police SWAT team and film production crews cope with surprises breaking into a location, the SWAT team found more suspects than expected. In response, the lead officers changed their primary role from trying to reach the further corner of the location to covering areas and suspects as they advance. During a scene in which an actor was "slaughtered" and fell into a hot tub on the top floor of a mansion, the crew forgot to account for......
