My superheroes name is Dresden Myers. He is of a stocky build but do not mistaken him for being slow . He's not supernaturally strong but strong for a person of his build. His powers consist of being able to project sound waves from his palms . He uses headphones to amplifie his ability. He projects what he hears in his headphones through his hands and the greater the bass is the more powerful the sound wave is.

Boooom! As I got launched out of a Warehouse looking down at the street below me I thought to myself how did I end up in this position. Okay let me backtrack some for you my name is Dresden Myers I am 19 years old and I am a superhero...okay maybe not an official superhero but I'm working my way up. I am what is know as a epic. an epic is a person with supernatural abilities the power varies each epic has their own unique power for instance some can fly others have super strength and then there are some like me. There are differnt levels on how powerful an epic can be the leveles go up to level 10. I have a very special power I can project sound waves through my palms and depending on weather I'm listen to music with some really wicked bass I can crank up the tempo on those waves. It's not much but it's something and I plan on making a name for myself in this city.

So my pal Rodney is also an epic but his power is really unique he can see all the wave links between all elctronical devices which makes it easy for him to gather information about gangs and their activity. tonight he had found something big the local gang of lower class epics had a cargo of drugs coming in and lots of them. The gang drug deal was happening in one of the wearhouses lower district of Chicago and I was also Informed that they had a level seven epic with them. My Teacher, My Hero

...“My Teacher, My Hero” "No one saves us but we ourselves-no one can and no one may. We ourselves must walk the path, teachers merely show the way." Gone were the days when we spent our late nights indulging in comic books featuring our generation’s greatest heroes, sneaking past our bedtime to read Superman’s latest issue under the sheets while holding a flashlight, running around the house with our fists in the air and a cape zooming through our backs. Nowadays, all we have our noses stuck on are the not-so-thrilling sagas of Captain Algebra on Planet Geometry, Fantastic Physics and Heinous History, much to our dismay. I never looked forward to closing in on my childhood and waking up to Algebra class in my first year of high school, nor did I find excitement in the then 25-year old Mr. Ongleo who came to class everyday to blab about my least-liked subject ever. He was a new teacher at the Caloocan City Science High School, and being a former disciplinarian in my best friend’s school at St. Mary’s Academy, he daily greeted us with Spartan orders. “Stand straight! Chin up! Hands on the side!” When the door opens to give way for him we had to be in this position already—mouths zipped and bodies stiff as a board. On some accounts he’d add “Be proud of yourself.”, and that would somehow make the corners of our lips slightly curl upward. He’d then check our room’s sanitation, and make remarks concerning it. He hated noise and dirt, and was highly irritated by even tiny pieces of...

A Not so Super Hero

...hey. It's just me, your friendly neighborhood spiderman. charot. okay so I'm a superhero! or maybe not much of a SUPER hero. just a simple one. though I can't really explain how so 'simple' and so not I am as being a SUPER hero. as the world moves fast around me, I can slowly see each and every one of their faces as they walk pass by. worried, stressed, sad. even if they plaster a big smile on, it doesn't work. I can see through it. I can feel it, I can see what hides underneath it. what's really going on or what had happened for them to answer me how they're so perfectly fine when I ask them If they are. weird power right? mahirap. pero I take full responsibilty. hindi man nila aminin. hindi ko man sila kilala ng napakatagal. pero malalaman at nalalaman ko pa rin. annoying as it sounds but I still thank God for it. It's a gift. people need it. and I'm the one who was chosen to give it to them. in a sort of stranger-suddenly-tells-you-everything's-going-to-be-fine-even-if-he-hardly-knew-you way. though I really know that everything will be okay.

...forgive us. They’re like a second mom to us. And especially, they love us like a true mother. Once, when I was still young, I had a very kind and loving teacher. And for me, she was the reason why I am here in my spot today. She was the building block of my knowledge. She’s my teacher on kindergarten. She’s strict, yes, but still very affectionate. She was the one who discovered I’m myopic. After discovering this, she told it to my mom and I was able to see the world clearly. She was also the one who always guides me through everything. She taught me how to read, write, count, and how to be strong in every circumstance I face. She taught me how to meet friends. I learned many lessons from her. She always taps my head whenever I learned something new. And in that small gesture, I know how much her affection is for me. She’s a person whom I can ask help from anytime I want. She’s a person willing to help a lost child to make her a successful one. And I’m very thankful to her. She was like my hero once and I know she’ll forever be one. Thanks to her, my parents discovered I’m myopic. Thanks to her, I learned how to make new friends. Thanks to her, I’ve been a good girl. Thanks to her, I learned how to eat veggies. And especially thanks to her, for being my hero, who saves me from any circumstance....

My Hero

...Name Professor Title Date My hero It’s rather usual relatively chilly autumn day in London and to the world a major event has caught the attention of viewers across the world. Pictures of two dark skinned men wielding a machete, a revolver and a cleaver and a Caucasian male lying prostate. A red sedan is also parked next to the three men. There is nothing unusual in having three men near a busy road in London, however, what could have transpired to bring about the circulation of the pictures of the three men? Dressed in a black hoodie, Jake (not his real name) was jogging back to the military barracks just outside London he is wiping goblets of sweat on his brow as he sighs to the accomplishment of completing his usual 5 mile morning run. He seems lost in his own world maybe thinking of his young newly-wed wife who must mean much in his life especially at this stage of marriage. Suddenly a screech of car tires and a loud bang brings an end to this serene atmosphere. Jake has now been flung onto the sidewalk by a red sedan and is now writhing in pain after being hit on his back and flung probably three metres from where he was initially standing. The resilience of a soldier in him urges him to rise up and overcome his injuries. He is now crawling on his belly trying to sit up and lean on a wall bordering the sidewalk. The car doors bang and two dark skinned men emerge. They seem relatively young probably in their 20s,heavily built and standing at about 5’10 tall.......

...The Inspiration behind my Motivation My Opa was a Russian Romeo who fell madly in love with my Oma, his German Juliet. This love they shared was strictly forbidden, since Russia and Germany were not on good terms. Had they gotten caught there would have been serious repercussions. I wouldn't even exist and would lack the ability to tell you this story. Nevertheless, they were married and raised three children together in Germany. When my mother was 20 years old when she decided to move to the United States and attend college. This is where she met and married my father. but once she became pregnant she returned to Germany. My Opa passed away two days before I was born and even though I never got to meet him, I am proud to be his granddaughter. When I was approximately six weeks old my mother flew back to the states and reunited with my father. I was raised in the swampy state of Louisiana until my 14th birthday. My present was a one-way ticket to Neufarhn, Germany where I was to meet and live with my Oma. It was over the next 3.5 years that I had the privilege of getting to know my Oma, the woman that continues to inspire me to this day. A few days after my arrival, my Oma showed me a photo that she had taken during WWII. In the photo was Adolf Hitler, Dr. Josef Mengele and various Nazi Generals, laughing and smiling while eating dinner in our family restaurant, which is still in business. They were seated at a large round table with a miniature......

...My Hero Almanda Larkin ENG121 MICHAEL SLOTEMAKER APRIL 11, 2015 MY HERO Hero’s come in different forms and occasions. Someone who has helped you learn new meanings of life, and what living is all about. My hero is my cousin KJ, he showed up at a what I thought would be the worst time of my life. But what I did not know was that his presence was just what I needed and he taught me to appreciate all things in my life. I remember this day like it was yesterday, as my body on that cold winter day in December was numb. My mind was also full of confusion and distraught. Around noon my mother got a call from my aunt, stating that my grandmother had just passed away from her battle of cancer. My grandmother had fought her battle for 3 years and during Thanksgiving dinner, a month before she passed, she had let us all knows that she would not be with us for Christmas. We all played it off and told her to quit talking nonsense and foolishness. But little did we know that she was tired of her fight and was ready to go home to live with the Lord. I often ask myself “how did she know that?” I was only 16 at the time and had no knowledge of what cancer was. If I had did some research at the time I would have known that in the final stages of cancer most patients experience fatigue, loss of appetite, confusion, sickness, and lots of pain. ......

My Hero

...He was my cousin; my older brother; my hero- a writer; an actor;an athlete. To his family, he was a son, a brother and a nephew and to his friends, he was the closest friend of all. To me, he was simply “who I wanted to be when I grew up.” I still remember him putting me, a four year old, on his shoulders and carrying me around our house for hours. I remember our trips to the zoo and to the puppet festival in Lahore every summer. When I was a little older, he would talk to me about the importance of honesty and integrity. He talked of his mother, a single parent, struggling to keep both her children in school anddrew on her life experiences to instill in me the importance of both empathy and perseverance. His death came as a shock to us all. He was seventeen and full of life – optimistic and giving. The very hospital where he had volunteered every weekend for two years was the hospital he died in. Negligence at the hands of doctors and staff whowere supposed to do everything possible to save his life in fact cost him his - and changed mine forever. While the rest of the family accepted his death as the will of God, I struggled to accept this loss as a misfortune and started questioning the society we lived in and the basic systems (or lack thereof) we had in place to protect us from such injustices. It was not long before realization set in that we live in a country where poverty is rampant, custom is unconditionally law, and one’s own position in life, whether ideal or......

Matt Cherubino gets to travel around the world taking pictures of breathtaking scenery. He’s been to multiple locations across Australia, Europe, Asia, and The United States. This is what I hope to one day, be able to do. I love experimenting with different angles, lighting, sceneries, etc. Being able to travel, would make this much easier to do. Matt has inspired much of my work. Everything from the angles he uses to the way he uses the weather to manipulate the lighting. Because he gets to travel around the world; each locations provides a unique feel to each picture. Matt is a big motivation to me and many other photographers. His passion of photography has not only provided him with a well paying job but also over 20,000 Instagram followers and even featured on Instagram’s page with over one-hundred million followers. Matt sells most of his online or at art shows/conventions he stops at on his travels. Most of the money Matt makes either goes to paying for travel expenses or charity.
