...MS-13 final MS-13 History and Origins The Mara Salvatrucha gang originated in Los Angeles, in the 1980s by Salvadoran immigrants in the neighborhood between Pico and Wilshire also know as the city's Pico-Union neighborhood. They immigrated to the United States Due to a 12-year civil war in El Salvador, which resulted in over 100,000 deaths and over a million refugees( The Salvadorian refugees and immigrants predominantly settled in southern California and Washington, D.C. Some of the refugees and immigrants had ties with La Mara, a violent street gang from El Salvador. Others had been members the Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMNL) during the El Salvadorian civil war(Rimmer, 2009). FMNL was made up of Salvadorian peasants who were trained as guerilla fighters. Many were adept at using guerilla tactics and working with explosives, firearms, and booby traps. Salvadorians were not accepted into the Los Angeles Hispanic community, and were frequently targeted by local Hispanic and African American gangs notably the 18th street gang. Due to this suffering, in the late 1980s, some refugee members of La Mara and FMNL formed what is now known as the Mara Salvatrucha (MS) street gang. Like many other street gangs, MS initially formed for protection, but quickly developed a reputation for being organized and extremely violent criminal enterprise. The gang’s rivals took note. One, known as the Mexican Mafia, or “la eme” for short, and is one of...

Ms. Annie arouses sympathy for the main character. Patricia Glinton, the author of Miss Annie , arouses sympathy for the main characters in her story, by sharing with us the readers the cause and effect of their action. “Miss Annie” is a story of a beautiful young woman by the name of Miss Annie. She was the wife of Mr. Andrew. When Mr. Andrew died, Ms. Annie was left all alone. Miss Annie promised Mr. Andrew that she would not remarry. However, because of a persistent and charming young bachelor, Ms. Annie was unable to keep her promise to her late husband. After Miss Annie and the young man were already wed, the man’s behavior changed. He treated Ms. Annie very poorly, which led to him getting his just deserts. The author first arouses our sympathy for Mr. Andrew, Miss Annie’s late husband. Mr. Andrew was Miss Annie’s first husband. He loved Miss Annie and treated her very well. Miss Annie was very beautiful. This led caused Mr. Andrew to be very jealous, so jealous that he made Miss Annie promise not to remarry if he died before her. Unfortunately, Mr. Andrew was the first to die. Miss Annie, however, did not keep her promise. This evokes a feeling of sympathy for Mr. Andrew because he did not get to have his last wish fulfilled after looking after Miss Annie all of his life. Next, Patricia Glinton arouses our sympathy for Mr. Andrew’s dog. When Mr. Andrew died, he left his dog to look after Miss Annie. His dog completed this job faithfully. ...and maintained by defining the date the project begins. This includes any planning or initiation activities. By setting the start date, we can better estimate how long a project will take. Set the task type to “Fixed duration” to facilitate project schedule development and consistency. Understanding task types is very important. MS Project defines three task types. The task type determines how MS Project calculates duration, work, or hours and resource unit assignments. Setting the wrong task type will cause MS Project to recalculate schedules incorrectly. Next, uncheck the new tasks or effort-driven checkbox. When you’re just starting a project, you should always uncheck this box. It helps to facilitate planning and the initial work. Now, uncheck the split in progress tasks checkbox. Normally, task progress will either be zero or complete with no other value. It is very important to uncheck this box. Next, uncheck the box next to “Tasks will always honor their constraint dates.” Sometimes, a task is started earlier or later than originally planned. By clearing this option, tasks that are started earlier will be moved by MS Project to the earlier start date. Finally, select the “Set as default” button for the changes to take effect for all projects. Next, I’m going to select the calculation tab and make sure that the checkbox next to updating task status updates resource status has been checked. If it is not, be sure to select it. Again, select......

Geared to your knowledge and interest in the “Alberta Partnership Program”, I will provide specific guidance on what needs to be done, and in what order. Here are the key issues that need to be addresses; • Company Health and Safety Statement • Company Responsibility and Obligations • Hazard Identification and Task Analysis • Workplace Inspections • Worker Training and Competency Training • Incident/Near Miss Reporting • PPE • Incentive Program The first order of business is to establish a written mission statement acknowledging your commitment to health and safety. A mission statement is crucial in order to create and maintain a safety culture within the company. Commitment to and enforcement of safety standards by managers at all levels is essential in making health and safety part of our day-to-day business practice. Without a large emphasis on this commitment, health and safety activities are usually incomplete, inadequate, or ill-performed. To ensure the quality of our company’s safety policies, our health and safety program is a cooperative effort among management, and employees. ...– Contracts Date Dear Ms. Starz: I am writing in regards to our client, Leonardo deCap, who has expressed interest in entering into a contract with Ms. Clair Dawn of Beverly Hills, CA ., regarding a 1965 Corvette Stingray for the price of $26,000.00. The agreement has been outlined in a letter from Ms. Dawn, dated February 13, 2013. [Please refer to the attached photocopy of Ms. Dawn’s letter to Mr. deCap]. Approximately a week later, on February 20, 2013, Mr. deCap responded with his acceptance letter. [Refer to photocopy of Mr. deCap’s acceptance letter]. Upon investigation of both the offer and acceptance letters, I have determined that the offer is valid because it is followed by the unconditional acceptance of Mr. DeCap. (Spagnola, 2006. Pg 2). The contract has been accepted the moment Mr. deCap mailed his letter of acceptance, which complies with the Mailbox Rule as an valid acceptance has been put in writing and mailed with proper postage via the United States Postal Service. (Spagnola, 2006. Pg 42). Moreover, the contract has sufficient consideration for a valid contract due to the recognizable legal value of the exchange between the two parties. In this case, the Corvette for $26,000.00. (Spagnola, 2006. Pg 25). My only concerns are that Mr. deCap did not sign or date the acceptance letter and did not clarify what it is that he is accepting. This may promote issues should Ms. Dawn choose to claim she was unaware what Mr. deCap was referring to......

Ms and Pregnancy

...MS and pregnancy The diagnosis of MS should not prevent you from becoming a parent but for this purpose it is very important to consult your doctor and your family. MS affects people who have or are planning to start a family, but more often women than men. This raises many questions about causal relationship between MS and pregnancy. Although, many years ago, women with multiple sclerosis are advised to avoid pregnancy that their condition would not worsened, but today we access different insights. Studies conducted over the past few decades have shown that the symptoms of multiple sclerosis can be alleviated or even disappear during pregnancy. The analysis of works that report about 13 144 women with MS revealed the following data: * MS has no effect on pregnancy. * No increase in negative symptoms nor for mother nor for the child. * Woman with MS can expect a normal pregnancy and normal delivery. For all these reasons, women with MS, especially those with mild neurological deficits, should be encouraged to become pregnant as soon as possible due to the progressive flow of the disease. It is important to break down some of the prejudices that exist and women provide the necessary information: 1. Does MS affect on the fertility of women? 2. Does MS affect on pregnancy and the baby's health? 3. Is it possible to apply spinal or epidural anesthesia during childbirth? 4. Is it recommended breastfeeding and is it safe? 5. Does......

...Unit 39 - Infection Prevention and Control Kayleigh Smith The cause and spread of infection Mrs Audrey Taylor has been admitted to the ward where you work with MRSA infection in a leg ulcer. She is being treated with strong antibiotics and regular wound dressings. She is being barrier nursed in a side room. Mrs Audrey Taylor’s infection is localised this is because her infection is limited to a specific part of the body; if it was systemic it would be all over her body. MRSA infections are most commonly transmitted from skin to skin contact. MRSA may have also got into her body by having open wounds and not having any dressing on; Audrey could have already had the infection in her body before she had the leg ulcer. It is common that people carry MRSA on the skin, but it is harmless until it has contact with the body. The conditions that bacteria need to grow are warmth, oxygen and moisture. An ulcer has all 3 things that bacteria need to grow so the ulcer would have attracted the bacteria to the leg. Indarjit Singh is 6 years old and has been admitted to the Children’s ward with measles. His mother decided not to give him the MMR (measles, mumps and rubella) vaccination as she had concerns about a link between the vaccination and autism. He’s quite miserable as he is being looked after in a room by himself. Indarjit’s infection is Systemic, this means that pathogens have spread and damaged the whole of the body. On the one hand, there is a need to improve the framework conditions for innovation; these include the business environment, access to finance, competition, and trade openness, as captured in the Innovation Input Sub-Index of the GII model. On the other hand, nations also need dedicated innovation policies targeting both innovation actors and the linkages among them; these include collaborative research projects, public-private partnerships, and clusters.13 Business executives in charge of innovation surveyed in Chapter 5 by Engel et al. stress the importance......
