1.A. pay back is $52,000. B. NPV is $32,794.35 C. IRR is 21.9%.

2. IRR, NPV for Truck. NPV=$81.21. IRR=15.20%. Accept Project Pulley. NPV=$2,592.24. IRR=19.44%. Accept Project

3. Truck 1 = 23,000. NPV=$6,180.25. IRR=18.73% Truck 2 = 18,400. NPV=$5,118.41. IRR=19.03% I would recommend truck 2 since it has a higher IRR.

4.A Project S: NPV at 0%=$1,500.00. At 6%=$1,000.18 Project L: NPV at 0%=$2,700.00. At 6%=$1,400.79

C.) IRR Project S=21.53%. Project L=15.34%
D.) Select Project S. has a higher IRR.

5.) S: NPV=1,302.93. IRR =15.24%
L: NPV=1757.31. IRR=13.7%.
Project S should be selected because the IRR is higher.

6.) A
Project M payback=$60,000
Project O payback=$105,000
B.) Project M: NPV at 0%=60,000.00. At 6%=33,329.54. At 20%=-11,529.71
Project O: NPV at 0%=105,000.00. At 6%=47,711.71. At 20%=-36,230.71.
C.) GRAPH BELOW

D.) At 7%, Project 0. Higher NPV by roughly 10,000. At 10%, Project M. Higher NPV.
At 13%, Project M. Higher NPV.
E.) if the cost of capital increases, then NPV will decrease along with IRR (depending on interest).
F.) The rule means that the company only accepts projects that bring more than 4% profit. This company would accept the projects with interest at 10% or less. The IRR for M and O is 15.24% and 13.7%.

7. A) Project A should be selected by Manning, NPV of $1,200.82 compared to -1976.12. B.) Capital cost rises to 14%, then Project B with 188.10
C.) Cost falls to 10%, then project A with 3055.71
D.) GRAPH BELOW

E.) A will decline faster because A (10 years) is a longer period of time than B (5 years). A is better at low cost of capital because over a longer period because it will change of time having a high NPV. B is better at high since it makes more money in 5 years then stops, which will decreases the cost of capital.

8. A) Project S costs…...

...Consumer Behavior Paper Pauline Cahill MKT/435 December 16, 2012 Dr. Maria Church In this paper, I will be discussing the definition of consumer behavior and how it relates to the subject of marketing. I will be selecting a product that I purchased recently and how the 4 P’s, product, price, promotion, and place affected my decision. Consumer behavior “It is the study of the processes involved when individuals or groups select, purchase, use, or dispose of products, services, ideas, or experiences to satisfy needs and desires” (Solomon, 2009, p. 7). Marketing affect us all in a daily basic whether we know it or not.   It plays an important role for the consumer who is purchasing.   It helps create a decision for a consumer to buy or not to buy.   It helps bring for clarity and product knowledge in the purchasing the right item. Some people would search everywhere to find the best deal and save money.   The companies that will come out in the top are companies that know how to market and feed on the public by what is popular and current. The 4 P’s in Marketing are product, price, promotion, and place. The first P in the marketing mix is the Product. A company has to develop a product or service to sell. The product life cycle begins with the development of the product based on customer needs and wants as determined by marketing research. Place is the second P in the marketing mix. Is your place of business located in a convenient, attractive location? When we......

Activity Based Costing: Abc/Abm Implementation

...understanding of their cost structure (Mansor, Tayles & Pike, 2012). Activity Based Management Activity Based Management (ABM) is a system that allows management to analyze the efficiency of a company, based on information from ABC system. ABM is an important tool for achieving continuous improvement (Ahmed, Bin Dost, Khan, Bukhari, Noor-ul-Ain, & Ali, 2011). As it is previously mentioned, ABC system provides an opportunity for decision making. Once costs are allocated among activities, managers are able to compare them among different plants within a company or benchmark in order to be sure that they are not too high. The same applies to the products or services. Managers are able to decide which product or service is more profitable and make appropriate decisions, such as increasing production level of highly profitable products and decreasing or stopping production of low profitable products or services. Activity Based Management consists of four major steps: 1. Identify activities of the company; 2. Group costs resources required by these activities; 3. Analyze the efficiency of these activities; 4. Decide how to improve efficiency of these activities. All of these steps are closely related to the steps of ABC system implementation. The difference is that ABC measures cost of final products or services through the activities, however, ABM measures efficiency of company’s activities. According to Stratton et al. (2009), ABC methods are better integrated with......

...– An Overview IN THIS BRIEFING… ctivity-based management and activity-based costing (ABM/ABC) have brought about radical change in cost management systems. ABM has grown largely out of the work of the Texas-based Consortium for Advanced Manufacturing-International (CAM-I). No longer is ABM’s applicability limited to manufacturing organisations. The principles and philosophies of activity-based thinking apply equally to service companies, government agencies and process industries. The acronym itself has evolved from ABC to ABCM (activity-based cost management) to ABM, and the application of ABC evolved from a manufacturing product costing orientation to a management philosophy of activity management applied in industries and organisations other than manufacturing. A Part 1 General FAQs Part 2 Practical guidance on implementing ABM ctivity-based costing and activity-based management have been around for more than fifteen years. Most forward-thinking companies have implemented them, or are in the process of doing so. A A A Part 3 Checklist Part 4 Further reading and bibliography BC is not a method of costing, but a technique for managing the organisation better. It is a one-off exercise which measures the cost and performance of activities, resources and the objects which consume them in order to generate more accurate and meaningful information for decision-making. ABM draws on ABC to provide management reporting and decision making. BM supports......

...Improving Organization Retention PSY 435 April 12, 2014 Dr. Theresa Watts University of Phoenix Trying to run an organization is not an easy task; trying to run it successfully is even more difficult. Various aspects need to be taken under consideration when an organization is working towards the same purpose and goal. Clearly, intention alone will not assure that the work is done, is done accurately to the expectations of others, and leads to reaching the desired goal. Many factors such as cultural, gender, different ideas and conceptions, and even one’s age can interfere with this process. Motivation and the right kind of leadership are enormously important in determining how the turnover of an organization will turn out and if an organization is functioning properly and successfully. Without the right kind of motivation, most likely, less will be accomplished and employees are more prone to making mistakes. Without the right kind of leadership, problems will get out of hand and frustration will most likely develop. How unproductive an organization is can be seen in the given scenario. JC’s Casino is an organization with various problems. Therefore, the author of this paper will describe the problems occurring at JC’s Casino while offering two or more work motivation theories to help with employee recruitment and retention at JC’s Casino. Additional occupational stressors that......

...Disaster Assistance Resources Name goes here HSM 435 Professor Ballou 27 May 2013 The town that I live in is XXXX, XX which is actually a borough; the total population is less than 5000 and therefore does not have its own disaster website. The county seat which is the town of XXXXX, also in XXXX County is also lacking in its own web based information source. The state site www.nj.gov does have links and information available for this purpose and simply lists contact phone numbers for the individual counties and some of the larger towns. Two of the largest resources available at the state site are preparedness checklists for a multitude of disasters both natural and manmade. There is a larger focus on the natural disasters since just last year so much damage was caused by Hurricane Sandy, and now as the beginning of the hurricane season starts again. There are, of course, checklists and preparation tips available for man-made disasters, again in light of the recent bombing in Boston just a few weeks ago. Some of the type information available is explained by this taken from their website: “Search for “EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COLLECTION” at the New Jersey State Library’s Website. These materials are available for New Jersey citizens, and to emergency managers, government officials, emergency responders, teachers, engineers and corporate emergency officials in New Jersey who need to prepare or respond to any emergency situation. Materials include handbooks,......

...Consumer Behavior Paper MKT 435 February 24, 2012 Consumer behavior is dynamic because the thinking, feelings, and actions of individual consumers, targeted consumer groups, and society at large are constantly changing (Hawkins & Best, 2007). For example, when leading up to purchases, a long line outside a night club is a positive factor in evaluating that club. Long lines imply that everyone wants to go there, and that club is probably very good. But, after you have purchased your ticket that long line is no longer a desirable factor, as you impatiently wait to get in. Furthermore, once you make it to the door, that long line ahead of you now means that the club is overly crowded, and therefore, a lot less appealing. So, for this example, categorizing activities by whether they occur prior to purchase versus during use shows how consumer responses can change significantly within a situation. My recent purchase I made was an item on clearances at Ross. ...Industrial and Organizational Psychology Melissa Wojcik PSY 435 May 28, 2012 James Cunningham Industrial and Organizational Psychology The area of industrial and organizational psychology has been studied since the infancy of psychology itself (Spector, 2008). Originally, industrial and organizational psychology was concerned with the industrial side of the field that concentrated on the management aspects of business and emphasized human resources as opposed to the organization side, which is concerned with improving work conditions in the workplace. As the field has grown over the years it has come to include the complete range of industry and organization. Strictly speaking, industrial and organizational psychology is defined by “an applied field that is concerned with the development and application of scientific principles to the workplace” (Spector, 2008, p. 5). On the practical level, the aim of industrial and organizational psychology is to, “improve the quality of the environment for employees as well as to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of employee behavior in that environment” (Barnes-Holmes, 2006, p. 56). The concise definition and practical application of industrial and organizational psychology are only the capstone to an understanding of the length and breadth of the field. A full examination of the evolution of industrial and organizational psychology as well as an explanation of how research and statistics work throughout I/O psychology are...
